Tracking Events in Google Analytics Using Google Tag Manager (GTM)

In addition to the ability to view statistics in your personal account, you can track and analyze GtChatpro events in Google Analytics.

Tracking GtChatPro Events in Google Analytics Using Google Tag Manager (GTM)

If you use Google Tag Manager to control Google Analytics and you do not see the GtChatPro events, then check the following settings to make the necessary changes.

Step 1. For GtChatPro event tracking, Firstly create a new trigger

Step 2. Choose Custom Event for the trigger type.

Step 3. Choose All Custom Events and click the save button.

Step 4. Now create a new tag by clicking the New button.

Section: Universal Analytics

Select Google Analytics: Universal Analytics for tag type. If you have created a google analytics 4 property (GA4) in your google analytics account then ignore this section and move below to the Google analytics 4 (GA4) Section.

Fill all required fields as given below

Input your Tracking ID and select Trigger to fire tags.

Select the Chat Requested trigger that you already created from Step 1 to Step 3

Your new tag should look similar to the image below, click “Save”.

Select Google Analytics: GA4 configuration for tag type. If you have created universal analytics property in your google analytics account then ignore this section and move to Step 5.

Input your Measurement ID and select Trigger to fire tags.

Select the Chat Requested trigger that you already created from Step 1 to Step 3

Your new tag should look similar to the image below, click “Save”.

Step 5. Check if your new tag has been saved in the workspace. Now all you need to do is publish all changes so that the new tag is sent to your website. Click the “Submit” button.

Step 6. Add a name and description of your preference for the submission and then click “Publish”.

 

Step 7. Now login to GtChatPro dashboard and click Channels > Manage

 

Step 8. To edit the channel click on the edit icon

 

Step 9. Now toggle to enable google analytics (event tracking) and click submit button.

 

That’s it! Within 24 hours, GtChatPro event tracking will be visible on your google analytics dashboard when a visitor submits details and clicks the Start chat button on the GtChatPro chat widget.
